Delicious Gorgonzola D.O.P. from Mario Costa
Not all cheese is created equally. Gorgonzola D.O.P. is made to traditional methods with pasteurised cow’s milk. The cheese has to be aged to a minimum of 50 days to be officially called a Gorgonzola Dolce. To get a more spicy flavour, Gorgonzola Piccante is aged above 80 day, to deliver an exquisite depth of flavour and strong character.
The Mario Costa Gorgonzola is available in three distinct types – Piccante, Dolce and Torta. The Torta cheese is alternated layers of Gorgonzola Dolce and Fresh Mascarpone. It’s a deliciously creamy indulgent cheese, it needs to be eaten to be believed!
Mario Costa which first established in 1919 and now based in the Novara region, is part of the Granarolo family, and we’re importing their cheese exclusively for the UK market.
This range is part of our extensive continental cheese range, expertly handpicked and supplied by our team. We’re importing and managing the often complex continental cheese supply chain, so you don’t have to.
